Avalon was established to support parents and families caring for autistic children. The charity offers a range of programmes and services designed to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of parents, carers, siblings and those with with autism. We offer practical advice and guidance, wellbeing programmes and family connection days to improve social networks, reduce isolation and increase skills, confidence, overall wellbeing and connection.

Support for Dads to take part in a range of outdoor and indoor activities to improve physical and mental wellbeing. This includes; hillwalking, paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing and mindfulness practices while developing supportive community of peer support.
Support for Mum’s to take part in a range of indoor and outdoor activities to improve physical and mental wellbeing. This includes walking groups, paddleboarding, yoga classes, tai chi, mediation a pamper days while developing supportive community of peer support.
This incredible one-day retreat provides support to both parents. It provides an opportunity to relax, connect and re-vitalise the body, mind and soul. All while reducing the stresses that can come from everyday caring. This includes ancient self-care practices such as Conscious Breathing, Cold water therapy, Meditation, Qigong, Tension release, Restorative yoga and the power of living in the moment.

Our family connection events, provide inclusive autism friendly social experiences for the whole family. This approach provides a safe environment for children to play while providing short respite for parents as well as an opportunity to connect to others parents and carers. All our events have been adjusted for children with autism to create a positive environment for the families to connect and thrive.
